Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank (BLKB)

We are the largest bank in the Canton of Basel-Landschaft and among the leading banks in northwestern Switzerland, managing total assets over CHF 36 billion. In 2024, approximately 1,000 employees worked for BLKB, of which more than 40 were apprentices or interns. Our AA+ and “stable outlook” ratings from Standard & Poor’s make us one of the safest regional banks in Switzerland and Europe. We have 23 branch offices, and our presence thus extends beyond the Canton of Basel-Landschaft into the Canton of Basel-Stadt, into Breitenbach in the Canton of Solothurn, and into Frick and Rheinfelden in the Canton of Aargau.

Our shareholders

We have CHF 217 million in share capital, of which the Canton of Basel-Landschaft holds CHF 160 million as endowment capital. The remaining CHF 57 million is distributed in the capital market in the form of BLKB certificates with a nominal value of CHF 100 each (certificate capital). The Canton of Basel-Landschaft holds all the voting rights and, by law, covers the bank’s liabilities (government guarantee).
